I love days when I am learning, particularly if the subject centers around equipment and technology systems. Yesterday was one of those days. I was in systems heaven. It was like drinking from a firehose as our motorhome tech trained us on a number of new complex motorhome systems.
I was super exhausted at the end of the second day. It was the good kind of exhaustion though, the kind of exhaustion that comes when you work hard on something and accomplishing a lot. But by the time my head hit the pillow though, I had almost convinced myself that the 5:00 am start time I had agreed to earlier in the day was suddenly way too early.
It was. It came earlier than I thought. I’ll admit I was a little annoyed that Vicki was still warm in her bed while I got up and headed out at 0’dark thirty.
As I walked the quiet country roads in the crisp, cool early (did I mention it was really early) morning air, my poor attitude was somehow being slowly replaced with a sense of gratitude. I realized I was the recipient of a beautiful morning sky that was a gift for getting up so early. A gift from God.
Just the other day, a good friend who is a pastor said, “Be aware of God’s Grace in your life, it’s everywhere, you just need to look.”
He was right. As I stepped out into the dawn of a new day, the morning light just breaking over the horizon, I was humbled and amazed. What a gift made just for me. It was a reminder that each and every day He has created is special and so are we. Now I just needed to act like it.
