We chose Chicago to start be our first “mainland” stop largely to accommodate our pets. We really didn’t want to risk layovers and transfers. Can you imagine having your pets misdirected to the wrong airport?  We also wanted to end up close to Nappanee, Indiana where we will eventually pick up our new motorhome. Janey, our 65 lb. Doberman, already has quite a few frequent flyer miles in her United account, so we chose the HNL-ORD red-eye.

Our entire entourage arrived safely in Chicago at 5:00 am. Vicki and I caught a ride to our hotel in Naperville, Illinois and were super relieved when Janey, Lucy and Tiki were delivered about an hour later.

Not a bad start.
